La Petite Maison
An artist residency in Auroville
The artist residency of La Petite Maison offers a guided and in-depth experience of Auroville through its partnerships with art galleries, collective art studios, production workshops and networking platforms. This form of collaborative support aids selected visiting artists in the manifestation of their projects, by fostering innovation, research, and creativity.
All artistic disciplines are eligible: performing arts, cinematography, literature, music, audio-visual, plastic and visual arts, design, fashion, … Other cultural related professionals such as art critics, historians, curators and theoreticians can also be considered.
PROGRAMS / ONE TO THREE MONTHS
- From September to March, every year -
1. Selection
Follow the steps to send your application and our selection committee will review your project proposal.
3. Immersion
The following weeks will be dedicated to producing work/research. You will have to work on the specific theme of Auroville and follow the guidelines of your project proposal. You will offer a workshop of minimum one day and/or a presentation of your artist journey.
4. Culmination
The residency will conclude with a public presentation of your work/research. Depending on the art produced you are expected to donate part of it to the in-house collection of La Petite Maison.
2. Foundation
The first days will be dedicated to discovering Auroville and getting registered.
